Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on the 12th of November, 1961 within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast, and has the record of being given 10/10 points during an Olympic event. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi, later to be the Romanian gymnastics coach at the time she was six years old. Comaneci participated for the first time at the national junior championships. She finished 13th. In the following year, she became champion. She took home three golds at her very first contest, a junior pre-Olympic meet in 1972, which was a the communist bloc nations. The following year, 1973 as well as 1974, she was the junior champion in all-round competitions. The athlete won four golds and one silver medals at her senior debut international competition which took place in the year 1975. This was her first time she participated as an adult. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976 becoming the first female to do a backward double salto as a dismount from the uneven parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager, Carol Wayne began working in the entertainment business as a performer as figure skater. Along with her younger twin brother Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a United States citizen, born on the 6th of September 1942, in Chicago Illinois. Carol began her career in the entertainment business when she was in her teens. Her first professional gig was figure skating alongside Nina Wayne, her younger sister, in the traveling entertainment shows Ice Capades. These shows were ice skating events that included theatrical performances.
